Calculators for parents near the £60,000 and £100,000 limits

Each calculator runs in your browser, so your figures never leave your device. They all use the same 2026/27 rules for income tax, National Insurance, adjusted net income and childcare, so the numbers match from one to the next. If you've already used one, your figures carry over when you open the next.

Which one do you need?

  • You're near or over £100,000: start with the £100k childcare calculator. It checks both parents, values the free hours and Tax-Free Childcare at stake, and compares the pension routes that get you back under.
  • A pay rise or bonus is coming: the pay rise check shows what you'd keep after tax, any extra Child Benefit charge and any childcare you'd lose, and the pension contribution that lets you keep it.
  • You earn between £60,000 and £80,000: the Child Benefit tax charge calculator shows how much you pay back and what a pension contribution would save.
  • You're between £100,000 and £125,140: the 60% tax trap calculator shows how much a pension contribution saves you, whether or not you have children in childcare.

These are planning tools, not financial advice. They use the rules for England for free childcare, and income tax rates for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
